Latvia, last week saw the opening of their national lighting festival ‘Staro Riga 2010 , during which the capital city Riga, is transformed into a spectacular display of ‘Light Art’.

Now, in its third successive year, this national event coincides with Latvia’s independence day celebrations and invites lighting designers, artists and even the general public with an invitation to transform the city with ‘light sculptures over four days in November.

Prior to the event, festival organisers and show designer Visvaldis Asaris invited SIA  "Eiropas Skana" to bring to life the central market place pavilions in the centre of Riga.

LSC Clarity was chosen to control the show lighting which ran for fifteen hours each day. The LSC Clarity software was run from an ACER 12inch notebook on site and was accessed remotely through a wireless network using Windows Remote Desktop Connection for access to programming and control of playbacks, remotely.

Martin Porter – Lighting Designer commented “Clarity performed perfectly throughout the event. It is extremely stable, easy to programme and very powerful. This is now my console of choice for the future”.

Clarity is available for both PC and Mac and can control up to an amazing 128 Universes of DMX. The software is highly configurable, easy to use and has been at the forefront of many prestigious shows all over the world.
